Certification is never an easy or superficial process and the products must be rigorously tested against a number of performance criteria. For the spray foam insulation this, of course, tests the thermal performance of the product on application, but will also test for the practicality of its installation, adhesion, weathertightness, condensation risk, durability and behaviour in relation to fire.
The rigour of the certification process ensures that specifiers can have complete confidence in the assurance and longevity of the product. The Irish construction industry is going through a difficult period, meaning that product manufacturers have to fight harder than ever for contracts.
Peter Woodcock, Director of Econ Polyurethanes, the Irish distributor of WALLTITE commented: “Being part of the WALLTITE initiative, backed by BASF, one of the world’s largest chemical companies already gives significant confidence in our product. The NSAI certification is just one more piece of evidence to prove the quality of the product.”
